As a border city, Laredo is affected, and many in the city fear for their life and safety. Texas A&M International University’s chapter of the Phi Iota Alpha fraternity inspired a chain of organizations to participate in a rally to voice its concerns on immigration policies. For the Sames Auto Arena game, the Spurs donned Laredo jerseys to support the local community. In the beginning of the first quarter on March 1, the Spurs held an aggressive offensive game plan, but could not capitalize on their opportunities giving the lead to the OKC Blue.
